kosmische

“kosmische” is the name of the new album by Marco Lucchi, an artist who likes to call himself “a cosmic messenger”. Dilated sounds that cancel the perception of space and time, transporting the listener into dimensions where nature transforms the shapes and colors, making them equally circumscribed in an area beyond the forest where an unwritten law of silence reigns, which everyone is sadly ready to obey blindly, without question. Black spots bring out ample shaded areas where distance gathers and areas of light emerge on the surface, reminiscent of faded pictures belonging to a now distant time, almost forgotten. This and much more is contained in “kosmische”, seemingly synthetic and severe, but born of a sound research of expanded synth that is never dull, born of an original composition made with keyboards, the true artist’s tool that makes use of a recorder or recording software. Two lapping psychedelic songs dedicated to Florian Fricke, composer and leader of the German band Popol Vuh, who passed away on December 29, 2001. An album that embraces flavours far beyond the boundaries of objective reality, seeming to make space for the long wait for a future in the making. The artist expressed himself as follows about the genesis of his work: “I was made for loving and making recorded music. Generally I compose music starting from the sound of keyboards, but my real instrument is the recorder, or recording software”, also highlighting how strong the power of music is. I always trust in the evocative and Orphic power of music, in its ability to give back worlds more real, more righteous and more beautiful than the one we usually live in.”

“kosmische” è il nome del nuovo album di Marco Lucchi, un artista che ama definirsi “un corriere cosmico”. Suoni dilatati che annullano la percezione spazio-temporale, trasportando l’ascoltatore in dimensioni dove la natura trasforma le forme e i colori, rendendoli uniformemente circoscritti in un’area dove oltre il bosco vige una legge del silenzio non scritta, verso la quale tutti sono pronti mestamente a rispettare ad occhi chiusi senza obiettare. Macchie nere fanno emergere ampie zone d’ombra in cui da lontano si apprestano ad emergere liquide ed epidermiche zone di luce, che ricordano fotografie sbiadite appartenenti ad un tempo ormai lontano, quasi dimenticato. Questo è molto altro si racchiude in “kosmische”, un disco apparentemente sintetico ma nato dalla ricerca sonora dei synth dilatati e mai banali, che nascono da un’originaria composizione fatta con tastiere, il vero strumento dell’artista che fa uso di un registratore o software di registrazione. Due brani di sciabordante psichedelica dedicati al compianto Florian Fricke, compositore e leader della band tedesca Popol Vuh, venuto a mancare il 29 dicembre del 2001. Un disco che abbraccia sapori lontani oltre i confini della realtà oggettiva apparente per dar spazio alla lunga attesa di un futuro in divenire. L’artista si è espresso così in merito alla genesi delle sue opere: “Sono fatto per amare e comporre musica. In genere compongo musica partendo dal suono delle tastiere, ma il mio vero strumento è il registratore, o i software di registrazione”, evidenziando inoltre quanto forte sia il potere della musica: “Confido da sempre nel potere evocativo e orfico della musica, nella sua capacità di riconsegnarci a mondi più veri e più giusti, più belli, di quelli in cui di solito viviamo”.
