Alla corte del Super Ego

The music as expression of pure art sometimes expresses latent, lacerating and visceral moods. The Italian artist Desh Alb brings indelible marks of questions that have no answers, a persistent pain that finds no peace, having at all costs to accept a steep path where the mind does not find the light to be, to exist. The musical project entitled “Alla corte del Super Ego” (At the court of the Super Ego), drags sounds, words and shapes of six compositions into a world full of discontinuous movement, where occasional glimmers of change seem to instill feelings of newfound clarity and then fall back once again into serious tones almost to sanction a kind of feeling of resignation and worsening. An artistic project of great depth that tells of a tragedy lived too closely, a daily defeat before the little that is known of the human mind and the much that human knowledge still ignores, which leaves us amazed, lost and unarmed, with only the awareness of weeping on a shoulder that can be also that of a guiltless and suffering mother for an ignoble destiny reserved for her. The project, effective and deep, is further enhanced by the contribution of a “reading” of some verses composed by Paolo Ferrarini and some samples in the original language from the 1995 film “Dolores Claiborne”, based on a book by Stephen King. Ingredients that define and deepen the texture of this project.

La musica come espressione d’arte pura a volte incarna in se stati d’animo latenti, laceranti e viscerali. L’artista italiano Desh Alb porta segni indelebili di domande che non hanno risposta, di un oblio di dolori persistenti che non hanno mai pace; dover a tutti costi accettare un percorso scosceso dove la mente non trova la luce per essere, per esistere. Il progetto musicale dal titolo “Alla corte del Super Ego” trascina suoni, parole e forme di sei composizioni verso un universo intriso di dinamiche discontinue dove di tanto in tanto apparenti spiragli di cambiamento sembrano infondere sensazioni di lucidità ritrovata per poi reimmergersi nuovamente in tonalità gravi quasi a sancire una sorta di sensazione di rassegnazione e di peggioramento. Un progetto artistico di alto spessore che racconta una tragedia vissuta troppo da vicino, una quotidiana
sconfitta per quel poco della mente umana che ci è dato di conoscere e di quel tanto che lo scibile umano ignora e che ci lascia attoniti, perdenti e inermi lasciandoci solo la consapevolezza di un pianto su una spalla che può pure essere quello di una madre incolpevole di cotanta sofferenza per un ignobile destino che le è toccato sopportare. Il progetto musicale efficace e profondo risulta impreziosito ulteriormente dall’apporto di un reading di alcuni versi letti e composti da Paolo Ferrarini e da alcuni campionamenti in lingua originale tratti dal film “Dolores Claiborne” del 1995, film tratto da un libro di Stephen King. Ingredienti che non fanno altro che definire e aumentare la consistenza e la profondità di questo progetto. L’artista stesso scrive: “Alla corte del Super Ego”
cerca di rappresentare attraverso sei paesaggi sonori, un universo immenso che l’uomo da sempre cerca invano di comprendere. Sei frammenti di pensieri, un viaggio nelle dark room della mente umana, un percorso che ci porta al cospetto del nostro Censore, alla sua corte, nel tentativo di comprenderci meglio. I suoni si sposano ai rumori, alle voci, agli umori, ai ricordi, ed alle emozione che essi generano. Si aggrovigliano su se stessi, si dilatano e riempiendo lo spazio intorno, si deformano per poi dissolversi nell’oscurità di qualche comparto, nell’immenso labirinto della mente umana.

“Alla corte del Super Ego” tries to represent through six soundscapes, a huge universe that man has always sought in vain to understand. Six fragments of thoughts, a journey into the dark room of the human mind, a path that leads us to the presence of our Censor, to his court, in an attempt to understand each other better. The sounds combine with noises, voices, moods, memories, and the emotions they generate. They become entangled in themselves, dilate and fill the space around them, are deformed, and then dissolve into the darkness of some sector, in the immense labyrinth of the human mind. My music is moving between light and dark, in a place where suggested melodies melt in the dissonance of the pure noise. Everyday recordings mix with deep space sounds, acoustic landscapes apparently so remote but living in our subconscious. If you want to travel with me, close your eyes and wear your headphones, or blast the sound out in the space. If I catch your mind with my music, I will be very happy”
