The_Next_Portal

The third work “The_Next_Portal” is different from the previous Al Tarf albums. A sort of pause between dark ambient sounds and sci-fi pads to draw a different sound inside new rooms and spaces that are less reverberating but full of inspiration from the history of the Egyptian bas-relief of the “Zodiac of Denderah”, currently kept in the Louvre museum in Paris which has caused controversy concerning the dating and position of the zodiac signs. Elements of stimulation for a musical exploration of the temple of Hathor and Denderah with the related settings of various places that refer to hieroglyphs depicting the “Denderah lamps” located in the temple crypt. Even today, stories and legends speak of a sort of electrical energy already present in Egyptian times. All this has been the setting for the encounter with a portal, its crossing and all that is encountered after having crossed it.

“The_Next_Portal”, il terzo album di Al Tarf prende le distanze dai precedenti progetti musicali ponendo una pausa tra suoni dark ambient e pad sci-fi per disegnare un suono diverso all’interno di nuove stanze e spazi meno riverberanti ma pregni di ispirazione proveniente dalla storia del bassorilievo egizio dello “Zodiaco di Denderah”, attualmente custodito nel museo parigino del Louvre che ha suscitato controversie inerenti la datazione e la posizione dei segni zodiacali. Elementi di stimolo per una esplorazione musicale del tempio di Hator e Denderah con relative ambientazioni di vari luoghi che si riferiscono a geroglifici raffiguranti le “lampade di Denderah” situati nella cripta del tempio. Ancora oggi storie e leggende parlano di una sorta di energia elettrica presente già ai tempi degli egizi. Tutto questo ha fatto da cornice all’incontro di un portale, del suo attraversamento e a tutto quello che si incontra dopo averlo attraversato.
